How Stonebridge Academy Helps Infants and Toddlers Thrive in McKinney

Stonebridge Academy helping infants and toddlers thrive in McKinney through nurturing care and early learning

❤️ Introduction: The Magical First Years

A child grows so quickly; the first years of a child’s life are full of magic, as babies go from being small and dependent to being small, independent walking, talking children with their own unique personalities. Parents want to enjoy every minute of this transformation, while also ensuring that their child has a safe and stimulating environment in which to grow and learn.

Deciding to look for Infant Care in McKinney, TX is a major decision for parents. You are not just looking for a babysitter; you are looking for someone who shares your goals as a parent and becomes a partner in your child’s early development. You want a safe, nurturing environment where your baby will be protected, loved and supported in his or her exploration of the world around him/her.

At Stonebridge Academy, we understand the uniqueness of Infant and Toddler years; that is why we have designed our whole program around nurturing your infant and supporting your baby’s growth.

We have developed a special environment for the youngest learners in McKinney to begin their lifelong journey of exploration and discovery.

👶 A Nurturing Nest: Our Infant Program (6 weeks – 17 months)

Our Infant Room is the heart of our Academy. It’s a serene and tranquil setting, filled with plenty of love to provide a home away from home for your little one. We completely understand how difficult it is to leave your baby for the very first time; therefore, it is our mission to provide you peace of mind knowing that your baby is in the very best of hands.

At McKinney Academy, we provide loving care using two primary principles: responding to your child’s individual needs and providing lots of one-on-one affection.

“On-Demand” Care

We don’t place your baby onto a strict schedule; instead, we will work with you to determine an individualized routine for your baby that incorporates their feeding and sleeping times, as well as toys to play with.

If your baby is hungry, we will feed or provide a bottle. If your baby is tired, we will rock him/her to sleep. This form of responsive, individual care will help your baby create an unbreakable bond of trust and security with you; therefore, your baby will feel secure, and you will have peace of mind that your baby is loved, safe, and comfortable in our care.

Lots of Love and Cuddles

Your baby’s caregiver(s) are professionally trained cuddlers! They spend the majority of their day lying on the ground with the babies, talking, singing, and providing them with as much physical affection as possible, which is essential for healthy brain development.

The more love and physical interactions your baby receives, the easier it will be for your baby to develop an attachment with you.

👣 The Toddler Adventure: Our Toddler Program (18 months – 2 years)

The adventure begins when your child takes their first steps! Toddlers have a lot of energy and will spend a lot of time exploring, becoming more independent. Our toddler classrooms at our premier Children’ s Learning Center in McKinney are designed to meet the challenges of this new and exciting stage of development. We can channel this energy into productive learning and playing.

The central theme of toddlers is, “Me do it!” Our program is designed for toddlers to become independent from their parents while also being safe.

The “Yes” Environment

In our toddler classrooms, we have child-sized furniture and all of the toy and play areas have been designed with the child’s needs in mind, so children are able to explore without any difficulty. By doing this, we can say a lot more often to their curiosity, and in doing so help them develop a sense of self-confidence.

Learning Through Play:

Toddlers learn by doing. Our day is filled with hands-on activities.

  • Art: Scribbling with chunky crayons and finger painting helps develop fine motor skills.
  • Building: Stacking soft blocks teaches cause and effect (and is great fun to knock down!).
  • Music & Movement: Dancing to music helps with coordination and lets them get their wiggles out.

📈 Tracking Milestones, Together

As a parent, one of the most thrilling experiences of your child’s first years is your child’s continued development and the milestones they will accomplish; you will be excited when they smile for the first time, take their first step, and say their first word. Every new accomplishment is a milestone for both you and your child!

Our staff are trained in early childhood development, so they can assist you by knowing what developmental milestones to watch for, as well as providing activities that will promote reaching these developmental milestones within every age group of children. We will maintain a record of your child’s developmental progress within the following key areas:

  1. Gross Motor Skills – Rolling, sitting up, crawling, walking, running, and climbing
  2. Fine Motor Skills – Grasping objects, picking up small objects (such as Cheerios), and scribbling
  3. Language Skills – Babbling, copying sounds made, saying the first word and pointing to an object
  4. Social-Emotional Skills – Smiling, laughing, bonding with and developing attachments to caregivers and learning to share

We feel that communication and a collaborative partnership with you will provide you with a positive, fulfilling experience working with us.

You will receive daily reports regarding your child’s daily activities from your child’s caregivers and you will always be informed when your child has reached a new milestone to prevent any feelings of isolation from us.

🛡️ Safety and Health: Our Top Priority

Safety is the number one priority when providing Infant Child Care in McKinney, which is why trust is huge when you place your precious child in our care.

Safe Sleep

All caregivers for infants at our facility are thoroughly trained in Safe Sleep practices according to the guidelines of the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics). Infants will be put on their backs in their own crib to sleep with no loose bedding.

Cleanliness

Infants are notorious for putting anything and everything in their mouths – this is why at our facility we frequently clean and sanitize everything they use. Toys, high touch and toy areas will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the day in order to ensure cleanliness and eliminate the spread of germs.

❤️ The Human Touch: The Stonebridge Difference

In McKinney, TX, while you may find amazing toys and pristine environments, the best thing about a children’s learning center is the people working there. At the heart of our infant & toddler programs are loving and dedicated caregivers. They aren’t just employees.

Each one has been selected based on their love for children, patience and warmth. They know how to comfort a crying baby with their special “magic touch,” chase after very active toddlers with high energy, and celebrate each small achievement with true passion.

Your child’s unique personality is just as important to our caregivers as it is to you. Caregivers will notice and pay attention to what makes your child laugh, soothes them when they’re sad and creates curiosity. With this strong personal bond, each infant/toddler will feel comfortable enough to explore, learn and grow.
